Air Quality Standards: Keeping the "Dirty" Out of the Sleeping Quarters
The bunkroom must be treated as a cold zone. Period. Turnout gear off-gasses dangerous toxins long after the fire is out, and bringing that gear into the sleeping quarters is a direct threat to crew health and long-term retention.
- Enforce a strict "No Gear" policy: Turnout gear, wildland boots, and even dirty station uniforms should never cross the threshold of the bunkroom. All active gear should remain in designated apparatus bay lockers.
